Jesus + Nothing = Everything
The book of Galatians is like an urgent wake-up call to the early church, and it’s just as relevant to us today. In it, Paul confronts a big issue: some believers were teaching that you had to follow all the Jewish laws—like circumcision—along with believing in Jesus to be saved. Paul’s message is clear: we’re saved by grace through faith, not by keeping the law. He reminds the Galatians, and us, that Jesus came to set us free from legalism and trying to earn our way to God.
So why does this matter for us? Because, even today, we can get caught up in thinking that following rules or checking boxes will make us “good enough” for God. But Galatians reminds us that our identity and worth come from our relationship with Jesus, not from what we do. It’s a call to stop striving for approval and instead live in the transformative power of faith, walking by the Spirit in everyday life.
